Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure, high-quality production software.
  • Build scalable Java backend and microservices-based applications across cloud and distributed-system environments.
  • Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code review, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
  • Establish standards for validating AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, security, and compliance.
  • Identify and automate recurring remediation opportunities to improve application and system stability.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams regarding architecture and technology applicability.
  • Lead software engineering communities of practice and promote effective engineering patterns and technologies.
  • Coach engineers on responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security expectations.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in backend technologies such as Java, Springboot, and Node.js, with experience building microservices-based applications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; distributed systems; RESTful APIs; web services; WebSockets; and JSON.
  • Hands-on experience designing and building scalable applications with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development practices and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security.
  • Advanced understanding of the software development life cycle, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, mentoring, stakeholder management, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to share best practices and drive broader organizational impact.
  • AWS certification is preferred.
