Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance to data scientists and ML engineers on architecture, tooling, debugging, and production design.
- Architect the transition from data science experimentation to reproducible, productionized machine learning systems.
- Establish shared patterns for model deployment, versioning, release management, and reusable ML assets.
- Build closed-loop experimentation using live model telemetry to guide future model refinement.
- Optimize ML infrastructure and model-serving costs through rightsizing, caching, and spend visibility.
- Identify and remediate dependency, access, credential, and secure-deployment risks in partnership with security teams.
- Support engineer growth through pairing, technical guidance, and constructive code and design review.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience across MLOps, DevOps, or software engineering.
- Strong experience building, shipping, and maintaining machine learning systems on AWS, including SageMaker, EC2, EKS, or Lambda.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end data science lifecycle and productionizing machine learning models at scale.
- Knowledge of MLOps tooling, CI/CD practices, model registries, and orchestration platforms such as Metaflow, MLflow, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience building event-driven or distributed systems using modular, abstracted, reusable engineering approaches.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization, infrastructure security, and IAM/access management.
