Base Salary
$138k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and support applications aligned with business and functional requirements.
- Develop Java-based microservices using streaming, non-blocking, and reactive programming paradigms.
- Work with Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, Amazon MSK, and AWS services to deliver scalable systems.
- Participate in domain-driven design, architectural discussions, API design, and integration approach selection.
- Create service documentation and APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI, with strong logging, auditability, security, and monitoring.
- Participate in code reviews and promote test-driven and behavior-driven development practices.
- Demonstrate service scalability and resilience through mock frameworks, performance testing, and related tools.
- Maintain secure, high-quality production code and algorithms supporting integrated systems.
- Use authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Apply software development lifecycle automation and guide responsible AI use within team practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Hands-on core Java experience across system design, development, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and operational support.
- Experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, and MSK.
- Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with caching systems such as Redis, GemFire, or Apache Ignite.
- Hands-on experience with authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to evaluate and refine generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Practical understanding of DevOps toolchains and test-driven delivery.
- Hands-on exposure to AWS cloud services and ecosystems.
- Familiarity with React, trading systems, and the FIX protocol is preferred.
- Ability to solve complex mission-critical problems with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
