Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex distributed software systems with strong quality, security, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Write high-quality code for complex scenarios with good test coverage.
- Translate product requirements into robust, modular, configurable, reusable application designs.
- Lead design and code reviews across multiple applications.
- Lead multiple sprint teams in delivering roadmap features and resolving delivery impediments.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to estimate effort, prioritize work, plan, and deliver roadmap items.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across multiple teams.
- Drive technical strategy, operational excellence, observability, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience and 3 years of hands-on experience leading multi-team engineering initiatives in distributed application environments.
- Preferred experience includes 7 or more years with Java, 5 or more years with Spring Boot and microservices, 3 or more years with system design, 2 or more years with AWS or related cloud technologies, and 1 or more years with content management platforms.
- Proficiency in one or more of Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript, along with data structures, algorithms, design patterns, relational databases, NoSQL, caching, REST, and gRPC.
- Experience with message queuing, data streaming, workflow and integration frameworks, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience using analytics, experimentation, DevSecOps, and distributed application design practices to improve quality, efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, technical strategy, and cross-functional influence skills.
- A master’s degree in Computer Science is preferred.
