Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement new and existing systems for risk, pricing, and associated clearing applications.
- Advance application architecture, infrastructure, technology modernization, and technical debt reduction.
- Translate business and functional requirements from Product and Risk teams into performant and scalable technical solutions.
- Architect APIs, database schemas, messaging layers, and integration solutions using Java, Spring, and related frameworks.
- Modernize existing systems and integrate them with current risk frameworks.
- Develop unit tests and validation strategies for risk calculations and pricing models.
- Champion engineering best practices, continuous delivery principles, and modern development methodologies.
- Research emerging technologies, financial market trends, and risk management methodologies to inform architecture and strategic decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience using the Java ecosystem.
- At least 3 years of hands-on senior developer or engineer experience, preferably in FinTech.
- Deep experience with SOA architecture and API-first design.
- At least 3 years of experience developing large-scale enterprise applications with Java and frameworks such as Spring.
- At least 3 years of database development experience involving SQL, PL/SQL, and views.
- At least 1 year of experience with Spring Batch.
- Hands-on experience with JMS, Kafka, Redis, and MongoDB.
- Ability to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule in dynamic environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Preferred experience includes portfolio margining, risk analytics, valuation systems, enterprise scheduling, UI applications, Kubernetes-based platforms such as OpenShift and Tanzu, and AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.
