Responsibilities
- Define security properties and architecture for next-generation operating systems.
- Design and implement protections for device boot flow, OS asset authentication, code signing, execution monitoring, and malware mitigation.
- Develop security and privacy technologies while balancing ease of use, performance, and user experience.
- Work across CPU features, kernels, libraries, frameworks, and applications.
- Analyze system security properties using threat models and provide architectural mentorship to teams.
- Collaborate across Apple organizations to improve security and drive technology adoption.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer in systems programming or kernel development.
- Strong understanding of operating systems internals.
- Industry knowledge of OS security and applied cryptography, including PKI, attestations, and public key signatures.
- Excellent C and systems programming skills, including secure development practices.
- Experience with malware detection or response in a modern operating system is preferred.
- Understanding of past, current, and emerging security exploits is preferred.
- Ability to provide architectural mentorship, deliver proven work on tight schedules, and collaborate effectively.
