Responsibilities
- Monitor mainframe batch jobs, critical streams, and SLA adherence.
- Fix and troubleshoot mainframe batch job abends, late jobs, and other production issues.
- Analyze, resolve, and escalate critical batch incidents.
- Lead and represent the team on critical incident calls.
- Support mainframe batch operations in a 24x7 model, including on-call and periodic weekend coverage.
- Participate in specification, coding, design, implementation, documentation, and quality assurance activities.
- Work independently and collaboratively under pressure while meeting stringent deadlines.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge and experience with CA-7, OPC/TWS/IZWS, and other mainframe monitoring tools.
- Mandatory experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CA-7.
- Excellent understanding of mainframe batch processes, batch monitoring, and SLA management.
- Experience handling critical production issues and fixing mainframe batch abends.
- Knowledge of software development processes, design, implementation, documentation, and quality assurance.
- Ability to support a 24x7 on-call rotation and work outside standard business hours when necessary.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English in a business environment.
- Ability to learn new programming languages as needed.
