Responsibilities
- Design, build, and iterate on scalable backend and ML systems, APIs, frameworks, and internal tools.
- Own well-scoped features and components and contribute to system reliability, performance, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Build LLM-powered features and agentic workflows, integrating LLM APIs, agent frameworks, tool/function calling, prompts, guardrails, and evaluations.
- Participate in technical design, code reviews, roadmap discussions, documentation, and on-call rotations.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in an async-first distributed environment.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of industry experience as a Software Engineer shipping production backend systems.
- Strong Python backend proficiency and experience maintaining production systems.
- Understanding of system design fundamentals and reliable, scalable application development.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and modern data storage technologies.
- Experience with AWS services including S3 and RDS.
- Understanding of service health, monitoring, and incident response practices.
- Ability to write technical documentation and contribute to design discussions.
- Preferred: experience with gRPC, Kafka, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LangGraph, prompt engineering, AI evaluation, and observability for AI features.
