Responsibilities
- Lead features and small-to-medium projects from requirements and design through implementation, release, and production support.
- Break down ambiguous requirements, evaluate technical trade-offs, and communicate assumptions, risks, and recommendations.
- Design, develop, and review clean, secure, tested, and maintainable software.
- Build reliability, performance, security, observability, error handling, and recovery into solutions.
- Collaborate with product, quality, architecture, platform, and engineering teams to resolve dependencies and delivery blockers.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, debugging, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in on-call support, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Use and rigorously validate AI-assisted development tools for design, coding, testing, documentation, debugging, and analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including independent ownership of production features or projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, NestJS MVC, LiquidJS, JavaScript, Express.js, React, and TypeScript.
- Experience with AWS services, cloud-native application development, Microsoft SQL Server and/or DynamoDB, data modeling, and performance considerations.
- Knowledge of microservices, distributed-system concepts, resilient integration patterns, Git, automated testing, code review, and secure development practices.
- Experience with observability platforms and defining SLAs and SLOs.
- Experience using Jira, Agile/Scrum delivery practices, and AI coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code.
