Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Python, Shell, and Ansible automation for server provisioning, configuration, deployment, upgrades, patching, and Hyperscale environments.
- Develop reusable Ansible roles, modules, playbooks, and automation frameworks for distributed system deployment and infrastructure configuration.
- Automate deployment and configuration of HAProxy, Corosync, S3 environments, clustering, high-availability, monitoring, and infrastructure components.
- Provision and manage virtual machines and infrastructure resources using VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Develop infrastructure automation with Boto3, Paramiko, Fabric, and PyYAML, including bare-metal operating system and ISO installation through PXE, RackN, and Cobbler.
- Build engineering environments and validate functionality across operating systems, hardware platforms, hypervisors, cloud environments, and infrastructure configurations.
- Analyze logs, crash information, network and storage behavior, and performance metrics to troubleshoot product and customer issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Maintain and enhance existing C++ and XML codebases, develop diagnostic and productivity tools, and use Git-based development workflows.
- Collaborate with development, QA, support, field engineering, and other cross-functional teams to improve reliability, scalability, serviceability, and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 4 years of experience required.
- Strong software development experience with Python and Shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management and automation technologies, particularly Ansible.
- Strong understanding of Linux, system administration, networking, storage, and distributed systems.
- Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
- Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift.
- Experience developing infrastructure and system automation with Boto3, Paramiko, Fabric, or PyYAML.
- Familiarity with bare-metal provisioning and network boot technologies such as PXE, RackN, or Cobbler.
- Working knowledge of Git and modern software development workflows.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including analysis across application and infrastructure layers.
- Ability to read and modify existing C++ and XML code.
- Experience troubleshooting production or customer environments and conducting detailed root-cause analysis.
- Enterprise storage, backup, recovery, or data-management platform experience is preferred; security and SaaS experience are strongly preferred.
