Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end real-time perception pipeline from sensing and extraction through geometric estimation and control-loop output.
- Develop robust perception methods for imagery with actively degraded signals.
- Produce estimates that identify and communicate their own failure early enough for the control loop to respond.
- Perform geometric estimation against known models using partial and imperfect data.
- Evaluate sensing options, run experiments, and defend instrumentation choices with quantitative evidence.
- Set technical direction as the perception work expands toward learned methods.
Requirements
- Experience closing a real-time loop using camera input on real hardware, with knowledge of the system rate, measured end-to-end latency, and measurement method.
- First-principles depth in classical vision and 3-D geometry, including camera geometry, triangulation, registration, calibration, and proper error propagation.
- Experience deploying real-time segmentation or feature extraction on degraded imagery and understanding failure modes for thin and low-contrast structures.
- Strong modern production C++ and ROS 2 skills.
- Experience with GPU-accelerated inference on embedded hardware under a hard per-frame budget, including measuring tail latency rather than only mean latency.
- Ability to defend physical accuracy claims using measurements independent of the system producing them, with bias reported separately from repeatability.
Benefits

- Flexible paid time off
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Six weeks of fully paid parental leave, plus an additional six to eight weeks for birthing parents
