Base Salary
$266k - $395k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build software for Lambda’s high-performance, multi-tenant cloud network.
- Develop reproducible automation and tooling for network configuration and deployments.
- Implement and operate SDN services and related control-plane software.
- Engineer highly available network services with observability, failover, and redundancy features.
- Develop, integrate, and maintain network monitoring and management tools and services.
- Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident-response tooling and automation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in systems, infrastructure, or networking-focused domains.
- Production-scale Software Defined Networking experience, including AWS VPC-like routing, security groups, overlays, or peering functionality.
- Hands-on experience with SDN platforms such as OpenStack Neutron, OVN, or similar network virtualization frameworks.
- Deep understanding of Linux networking, including namespaces, routing, iptables or nftables, network virtualization, SR-IOV, and DPDK.
- 5+ years of software development experience in C, Go, or Python.
- Experience with multi-data-center and hybrid-cloud networking, automation, software-driven control planes, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment systems, Git, and GitOps environments.
- Experience with on-call rotations, incident response, network or system reliability tooling, and Kubernetes application deployment and automation.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Ansible, OVS, VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, Nexus Fabric Controller, Arista CVP, Spine-Leaf or Clos networks, BGP EVPN VXLAN, multi-data-center networks, SD-WAN, DWDM, and next-generation firewall automation.
