Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of Workday HCM integrations with internal systems, vendors, and enterprise platforms.
- Translate HR, Talent Acquisition, and Finance business needs into technical designs, data flows, and integration solutions.
- Build and enhance integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs, Workday connectors, reports-as-a-service, web services, Workday Orchestration for Integrations, and document transformations.
- Develop API-based integrations and automations using REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, and GraphQL.
- Use Workato and comparable integration-platform-as-a-service technologies to orchestrate workflows across Workday and adjacent systems.
- Provide technical leadership on selecting Workday connectors, iPaaS, Studio, Workday Orchestration for Integrations, and Google Cloud Functions for data movement use cases.
- Design AI-enabled workflows and API-based automations with appropriate security, reliability, and operational controls.
- Own integration troubleshooting, monitoring, root-cause analysis, production support, resiliency, observability, and documentation improvements.
- Maintain technical specifications, field mappings, test plans, deployment runbooks, and integration documentation.
- Perform Workday release-impact analysis and testing, identifying integration enhancements and risks.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on Workday integration development experience focused on Workday HCM or Financials.
- Experience leading integration work from requirements through design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
- Deep practical expertise with Workday Studio, EIBs, Workday web services, Core Connectors, custom reports, Integration Security Groups, and document transformations.
- Strong experience with XSLT, XML, JSON, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and API-based system integration patterns.
- Experience with iPaaS technologies, preferably Workato or a comparable platform.
- Understanding of Workday HCM or Finance business processes and data domains including Core Financials, Core HCM, staffing, compensation, time, absence, payroll, procurement, suppliers, customers, and banking.
- Strong customer service, communication, analytical, problem-solving, ownership, data quality, security, and reliability skills.
- Ability to operate in a global, fast-paced environment while prioritizing concurrent initiatives and handling both standard connector implementations and novel automation challenges.
- Experience building AI-enabled workflows through APIs and safely integrating AI services into business processes is preferred.
- Experience with Claude Code, command-line tooling, developer productivity automation, Workday Orchestrate for Integrations, Workday Extend, Workday Security, BIRT, automated integration testing, or global and multi-country HCM or finance environments is preferred.
- Current or prior Workday Integration or Workday Studio certification is preferred.
