Base Salary
$178k - $228k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes.
- Ensure proper monitoring, triage rotations, and policies are in place for team operations.
- Establish code review and design standards, promoting quality and ownership.
- Mentor and develop talent within the team through feedback and guidance.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
- Extensive experience with highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
- Experience supporting scale up and down during large sales events like Prime Day or Black Friday.
- Proficient in tuning autoscaling, CPU/Memory, and multi-threading for compute workloads.
- Ability to deliver major features and system components with a clear technical execution plan.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
