Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and support enterprise Java applications and Spring Boot services for application and web server platforms.
- Build secure, versioned REST APIs for provisioning, configuration, deployment governance, certificate management, validation, and capacity workflows.
- Create automated unit, component, integration, API, regression, and negative tests using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, REST Assured, and test containers.
- Integrate build, testing, security, code coverage, static analysis, and deployment controls into CI/CD pipelines using Maven or Gradle and enterprise delivery tooling.
- Develop reusable, idempotent Ansible roles and collections for server installation, configuration, JVM tuning, certificate operations, patching, compliance, and policy enforcement.
- Build self-service capabilities for server provisioning, application deployment, routing, certificate requests, JNDI resource management, and platform metrics.
- Use code reviews, quality metrics, observability, root-cause analysis, and production feedback to improve software reliability.
- Partner with QA on acceptance criteria, test plans, traceability, release validation, and defect resolution.
- Participate in Agile planning, estimation, demonstrations, retrospectives, technical design reviews, release readiness reviews, and production support.
- Mentor engineers in Java development, automated testing, secure coding, code review, troubleshooting, and modern software engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of technology infrastructure engineering and solutions experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience delivering production Java applications or backend services.
- At least 4 years of hands-on Core Java development involving object-oriented design, collections, streams, exception handling, concurrency, and design patterns.
- At least 4 years of experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, RESTful services, dependency injection, validation, security, and API design.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle, Git-based workflows, pull requests, peer reviews, branching strategies, semantic versioning, and software release management.
- Experience integrating automated tests, code coverage, static analysis, security scanning, and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC, Agile delivery, secure coding, clean-code practices, documentation, observability, debugging, root-cause analysis, and production support.
- At least 4 years of experience deploying or supporting application and web servers such as Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, IBM WebSphere Liberty, or NGINX.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and Angular or React is desired.
- Experience with test-driven development, behavior-driven development, contract testing, service virtualization, performance or resilience testing, and test data management is desired.
- Experience with SonarQube, JaCoCo, Checkstyle, SpotBugs, SAST, dependency scanning, and secrets detection is desired.
- Experience with JPA or Hibernate, relational databases, messaging platforms, caching, asynchronous processing, OpenAPI or Swagger, and Postman is desired.
- Deep understanding of JVM behavior, memory management, threading, class loading, performance tuning, and application-server internals is desired.
- Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift, containerized Java workloads, hybrid cloud platforms, observability practices, and Ansible automation is desired.
