Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive technical strategy, roadmaps, and adoption for large-scale ML infrastructure development.
- Guide sustainable engineering choices for ML systems operating at scale.
- Improve ML workload efficiency through scaling, idle suspension, and existing and novel technologies.
- Deliver software features for Google’s accelerator fleet.
- Partner with GDM and other PAs to transfer innovations into products developed by the team and partner teams.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions while managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, plus 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 5 years of experience with speech/audio, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or another ML specialization.
- 5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure, including areas such as model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, and fine-tuning.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
- Preferred: experience with ML compilers and runtimes, Tensor Processing Units, TPU system design, and Graphics Processing Units.
