Base Salary

$105k - $235k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture, design, and development of OCI Log Analytics query-language features, including parsing, planning, optimization, and distributed execution.
  • Build scalable systems for machine-learning and advanced analytics across terabytes of data while meeting latency, availability, and cost-efficiency goals.
  • Develop AI agents and agentic workflows that translate user intent into queries, investigate operational issues, and surface actionable insights.
  • Architect secure, resilient, multi-tenant cloud services with fault tolerance, replication, throttling, load shedding, and automated recovery.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across query execution, indexing, storage, retrieval, and analytics pipelines.
  • Define performance, scalability, correctness, availability, and reliability requirements.
  • Create load, stress, fault-injection, recovery, and performance tests for large-scale systems.
  • Establish service-level objectives, telemetry, dashboards, and alerts for operational excellence.
  • Lead production issue investigations and root-cause analysis, participate in on-call rotation, restore service health, and implement preventive improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, collaborate across OCI organizations, and contribute to hiring and talent development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least six years of software engineering experience, including designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong programming expertise in Java, Python, or both.
  • Experience building cloud-scale, multi-tenant products or services supporting high-throughput concurrent processing.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed computing, large-scale data processing, system reliability, performance optimization, and service development and operations.
  • Ability to design for scalability, elasticity, availability, durability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Practical understanding of large language models, AI agents, tool use, Model Context Protocol, and Agent-to-Agent interoperability, plus familiarity with AI-assisted development.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and communicate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and work on-site in Nashville Monday through Friday.
  • Preferred experience includes observability, logging, search, analytics, query processing, machine-learning algorithms, query languages, compilers, query planners, distributed execution engines, indexing, information retrieval, AI agents, generative AI applications, or natural-language interfaces.
  • Preferred technologies include Kafka, Lucene, Solr, Spark, Parquet, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
