
Lead Developer
TransUnionResponsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of backend and full-stack applications using cloud-native technologies and microservices architecture.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable solution designs, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership through coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and technical guidance.
- Own feature delivery from estimation through deployment while managing risks, dependencies, branch integration, and release readiness.
- Drive secure development, code quality, vulnerability management, automated testing, maintainability, and production readiness.
- Lead production issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and preventive improvements to increase platform reliability and reduce technical debt.
- Mentor engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, technical reviews, and cross-functional development initiatives.
- Promote automation, AI-assisted development practices, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership of enterprise-scale applications and complex software initiatives.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle, Agile delivery frameworks, system architecture, and distributed systems design.
- Experience leading end-to-end feature delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing technical dependencies, and driving engineering execution.
- Experience with secure software development, performance optimization, and operational support for business-critical applications.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineering teams, lead architecture discussions, and influence engineering practices across teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
