Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, scalable production software solutions.
  • Build and deploy distributed applications using Java and Amazon Web Services.
  • Create architecture and design artifacts and ensure implementation meets design constraints.
  • Use Spring Boot and Kafka to deliver complex application capabilities.
  • Analyze and visualize large datasets to identify patterns and improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Use and evaluate enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Apply secure coding, application resiliency, operational stability, and responsible AI practices.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced Java programming skills.
  • Practical experience designing, building, and deploying cloud-native applications on Amazon Web Services.
  • Advanced knowledge of Spring Boot and Kafka.
  • Experience interacting with technology and business stakeholders.
  • Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
  • Preferred: basic or intermediate Python knowledge.
  • Preferred: experience with Snowflake or Databricks.
