Base Salary
$107k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, train, deploy, and improve ML classification and BERT-based document-understanding models.
- Maintain and extend configuration-driven orchestration pipelines for dynamic file matching, processing, and standardized output.
- Evolve ETL processors for complex Excel workbooks and varied accounting-system formats.
- Improve prediction accuracy, audit logging, processing integrity, and data quality across clients and document types.
- Make architectural decisions involving model serving, database schemas, and API integration with RealPage’s Data Management Gateway.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to one direct report and junior engineers.
- Support SFTP-based workflows, dynamic data transformations, document parsing, and multi-environment deployments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Python development experience with production ML systems.
- Strong experience training and fine-tuning transformer models for NLP, text classification, and document understanding using Hugging Face and TensorFlow.
- Deep proficiency with pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines processing messy semi-structured Excel and CSV data at scale.
- Familiarity with ML model-serving platforms such as Wallaroo, SageMaker, or Vertex AI, including OAuth2-based inference APIs.
- Ability to operate as a technical lead by triaging bugs, shipping features, making independent architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers.
- Experience across a data platform from raw file ingestion through model inference and API integration.
- Preferred experience in real estate finance, property management, accounting data, SFTP and Paramiko, dynamic code generation or evaluation, document parsing/OCR, SSH-tunneled database connections, multi-environment deployments, or small-team leadership.
