Responsibilities
- Design and implement new or enhanced backend application systems in coordination with Citi technology teams.
- Lead the full software development lifecycle from analysis and design through build, testing, implementation, and operational support.
- Use Python, Apache Spark, and SQL to solve complex technical problems and deliver scalable backend solutions.
- Analyze business processes, assess industry-standard alignment, and recommend advanced programming solutions.
- Define technical standards and operating procedures for application development.
- Advise users, clients, and technology teams on technical challenges.
- Recommend security enhancements based on post-implementation reviews to improve system performance and reliability.
- Mentor junior developers and analysts and share backend development expertise.
- Evaluate technical and business risks while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
- Requires 5 to 8 years of experience in systems analysis and software application development.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Requires proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with Apache Spark and PyCharm.
- Requires working knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot and agent-based integrations is required.
- Requires experience managing and delivering technology projects and practical knowledge of project management methods.
- Experience with microservices development and API integration is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Citi’s technology environment is beneficial.
- Must have advanced English proficiency for collaboration with global teams and the ability to adapt to changing deadlines, tools, and requirements.
