Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based test automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend applications.
- Write reusable Java code using object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and maintainable design principles.
- Develop UI automation with Selenium and Page Object Model patterns, API automation with Rest Assured, and backend validation using SQL, JDBC, and relational databases.
- Debug application and automation code, identify defects and root causes, and optimize SQL queries for data validation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, CloudBees, Bitbucket, and Git.
- Contribute to integration, API, functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing while improving unit-test coverage.
- Apply TDD, BDD, Agile development practices, code reviews, and continuous improvement while collaborating with developers, product owners, and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in software development engineering in test, test automation engineering, software development, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant hands-on experience developing Java-based automation solutions and frameworks for complex enterprise applications across UI, API, and backend layers.
- Strong Core Java programming, object-oriented design, debugging, data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Rest Assured or comparable Java automation technologies.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle, SQL, JDBC, and relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, or Snowflake.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, CloudBees, Bitbucket, and Git.
- Understanding of TDD, BDD, modern software testing practices, Agile collaboration, and root-cause analysis.
- Preferred: experience with AWS or another cloud environment, Docker, Kubernetes, JMeter, DevOps environments, or financial-services and regulated enterprise applications.
