Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of Xero’s front-end platform across multiple teams.
- Guide the React, TypeScript, and associated front-end tooling stack.
- Build and maintain shared component libraries, design systems, and developer tools.
- Influence CI/CD and delivery pipeline improvements at the platform level.
- Shape the roadmap for front-end performance, accessibility, and developer experience.
- Use Harness Engineering to modernize legacy front-end pages and components.
- Influence technical roadmaps and decisions across teams while collaborating with engineering, product, design, and infrastructure.
- Coach and mentor engineers toward more senior roles.
Requirements
- Deep front-end engineering expertise and the ability to learn new languages and tools.
- Proven experience with large-scale shared platforms and developer experience.
- Strong grounding in CI/CD concepts, automated testing, and TDD.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, maintainable systems, including distributed architectures.
- A track record of influencing roadmaps and technical direction across multiple teams.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical problem solving.
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers.
- A collaborative approach to resolving disagreements and reaching broader team outcomes.
- Experience using AI tools and principles to improve development-team efficiency and problem solving.
