Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of Xero’s front-end platform.
- Guide the React, TypeScript, and associated tooling stack across multiple teams.
- Improve CI/CD and delivery pipelines at the platform level.
- Shape the roadmap for front-end performance, accessibility, and developer experience.
- Modernize legacy front-end pages and components using Harness Engineering.
- Build and maintain shared foundations including component libraries, design systems, and developer tooling.
- Influence technical roadmaps and direction across multiple teams.
- Coach and mentor engineers toward senior roles.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in front-end engineering and the ability to learn new languages and tools.
- Proven experience with large-scale shared platforms and developer experience.
- Solid grounding in CI/CD concepts, automated testing, and TDD.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, maintainable systems, including distributed architectures.
- A track record of influencing roadmaps and technical direction across multiple teams.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on problem solving.
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers.
- A collaborative approach to resolving disagreements and reaching effective outcomes.
- Experience using AI tools and principles to improve efficiency and solve development problems.
