Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and connect it to business-impacting projects.
- Lead the design and delivery of the next generation of Affirm’s checkout experience.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to manage technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
- Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes.
- Own team operations and availability through monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, alerting, and on-call support.
- Set code review and design standards, advocate for quality across teams, and share knowledge through writing and tech talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and technical leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications using declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience delivering major features or system components and deprecating existing functionality through technical and execution planning.
- Ability to understand systems from low-level language idioms through large-system architecture.
- Demonstrated growth through gathering and iterating on feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
