Base Salary
$147k - $199k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive frontend engineering strategy, architecture, tooling, standards, and technical initiatives across the organization.
- Lead development of accessible, performant, user-centered web applications for government customers.
- Build and maintain component libraries, design systems, shared frontend infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.
- Establish frontend testing, accessibility, performance, code quality, and mobile-first development practices.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers on UI/UX decisions and pragmatic technical trade-offs.
- Mentor engineers, develop frontend career pathways, and influence technical decisions across teams.
- Work across the full stack when necessary to solve problems end-to-end.
Requirements
- 10+ years of related experience and a demonstrated record of delivering production-ready frontend applications.
- Proven experience architecting and implementing modern frontend applications at scale with React and/or Angular.
- Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS architecture, web platform APIs, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience with frontend build tooling, bundling, deployment pipelines, design systems, component libraries, CDN strategies, and asset optimization.
- Practical knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, accessibility linting, and automated accessibility testing.
- Experience with unit, component, and end-to-end frontend testing using tools such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Angular Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Understanding of state management, asynchronous data handling, web performance, Core Web Vitals, frontend monitoring, and API integration patterns including GraphQL or REST.
- Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines with automated accessibility checks, linting, and testing.
- Strong product thinking, communication, cross-functional collaboration, technical leadership, mentoring, and organizational influence.
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain Public Trust 6C.
