Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy software solutions across HelloFresh markets and brands for customer-facing and internal applications.
- Own features end to end, including problem definition, solution shaping, development, quality engineering, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build modern, accessible, performant frontend experiences using React, TypeScript, and related technologies.
- Contribute to APIs, backend services, integrations, data work, and end-to-end solutions across the stack.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, backend engineers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in technical discovery, architecture, design discussions, code reviews, pairing, mentoring, and technical knowledge sharing.
- Apply DevOps and engineering best practices to build, deploy, and operate reliable software.
- Use AI coding agents to explore, plan, develop, debug, test, and improve software.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience on an agile software development team.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with React and TypeScript, or a similar modern JavaScript framework such as Angular or Vue.
- Strong knowledge of frontend architecture, component design, state management, API integration, performance, and accessibility.
- Experience delivering end-to-end features from implementation through deployment and monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with continuous delivery and deploying customer-facing applications.
- Experience writing unit, integration, and functional quality engineering tests and working with TDD or BDD practices.
- Solid understanding of backend architecture, APIs, service contracts, and collaboration with backend engineers.
- Experience with server-side technologies such as Next.js, Nest.js, Remix, Node.js, or similar.
- Proficiency with GraphQL and/or REST APIs and working knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Honeycomb, Sentry, Datadog, or New Relic.
- Experience with experimentation, including A/B or multivariate testing.
- Comfort working with cloud-based applications, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
- Working knowledge of backend languages such as Node.js, Python, Go, or Java.
- Solid hands-on experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, including reviewing, testing, and validating generated work.
- Mobile app development experience with React Native or native iOS/Android is a bonus.

- Toronto compensation range is CAD $130,000–$150,000 annually.
