Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of one or more Scrum teams while actively contributing to Java codebases.
- Architect and build scalable, containerized Java Spring Boot services and cloud-native applications.
- Design and implement high-performance APIs integrating platforms with firm-wide control systems.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers on React and Angular Micro-Frontend applications.
- Own features end to end from architecture and technical specifications through implementation and deployment.
- Pilot and integrate AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and advanced code analyzers.
- Mentor engineers on software design, containerization, development workflows, and technical best practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on software development experience, including building and designing robust backend systems.
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud-native applications.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects or serving as a technical lead for a development team.
- Deep understanding of software architecture, microservice design patterns, and RESTful API development.
- Interest in or experience with AI-assisted development tools.
- Exposure to React or Angular is preferred, and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks is a plus.
- Experience in financial services or another large, complex global environment is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree or university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
