Responsibilities

  • Build product features in collaboration with architects and product stakeholders.
  • Develop and design the Player SDK with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advocate best practices for player design and development.
  • Own product development from concept through development, testing, acceptance, adoption, and iterative changes.
  • Improve playback performance, engineering excellence, architecture, design practices, and operational metrics.
  • Contribute to protocol reviews, feature proposals, backlog grooming, estimations, and guidance for SDE-Is.
  • Collaborate with testers, client application developers, product managers, and other internal customers.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of experience developing native Android applications in Kotlin.
  • Hands-on experience building native Android applications and mobility solutions.
  • Experience with Android and TV architecture, media frameworks, Media Player APIs, ExoPlayer API, Android SDK, Core Java, Android Studio, Compose, Android Debugger, and Android Open Source.
  • Understanding of Android components including Activities, Services, Intents, Broadcast Receivers, Content Providers, and UI components and controls.
  • Familiarity with web service integration and JSON.
  • Experience with DevOps/SRE practices such as CI/CD, performance monitoring, and incident management.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work proactively with limited supervision.
