Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain foundational Android frameworks and shared components.
- Write efficient, high-quality, tested native mobile application code and participate in code reviews.
- Define and improve engineering standards, codebase consistency, processes, and development tools.
- Support the scaling of mobile app development and additional contributors through architectural guidance.
- Own end-to-end product quality, including development, design, maintenance, reliability, and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers.
- Prototype new ideas, explore emerging mobile technologies, and optimize app performance and stability.
- Monitor app performance metrics and use findings to drive improvements.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing through technical blog posts.
Requirements
- Experience developing native Android mobile applications with a strong understanding of Android architecture, frameworks, the Android SDK, Kotlin or Java, and Android Studio.
- At least 1 year of experience solving low-level design problems in mobile app development.
- Expertise with Android UI components and controls, including Jetpack Compose, Action Bars, Widgets, and Fragments.
- Expertise with Android Activity and Fragment lifecycles, Services, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, and Content Provider.
- Experience integrating web services and working with cloud technologies including AWS, GAE, and Firebase.
- Experience using analytics, location, and social APIs and dependency injection frameworks.
- Strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality software.
- Deep understanding of mobile performance metrics and app improvement strategies.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 2–4 years of professional experience as an Android mobile developer with hands-on Java or Kotlin experience.
- AdTech experience and knowledge of VAST and serving protocols are preferred.
