Senior Software Engineer - Electricity Markets
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Lead the evolution of on-premise, container-based deployment infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline architecture.
- Architect and maintain build infrastructure using Ansible, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, and related tooling.
- Develop and maintain DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code methodologies, and security chain-of-custody processes.
- Advise customers on infrastructure adoption and support on-site product deployments.
- Partner with software developers to implement, integrate, and validate system changes.
- Provide lifecycle technical oversight, including monitoring, defect resolution, performance optimization, and complex troubleshooting.
- Document resolution guides, track systemic issues, and support operational reliability.
- Serve as the technical interface among product development, customers, and project teams.
- Apply and evolve execution, governance, and security standards.
- Mentor team members on DevOps practices and lead technical improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited university.
- At least 5 years of experience in on-premise deployment, DevOps/CI/CD, software development, or enterprise system integration.
- At least 3 years of experience managing Kubernetes deployments and microservices architecture.
- Willingness to travel 10–20% of the time.
- Preferred experience with ArgoCD, Helm Charts, Red Hat Linux, Splunk, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Prometheus, Jaeger, Oracle RDBMS, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript/JavaScript, OpenShift, and Docker.
- Preferred experience translating business needs into technical requirements, resolving complex software and infrastructure issues, managing technical risks, and leading or mentoring technical teams.
