Responsibilities

  • Design and own the architecture of a real-time content platform, including data models, synchronization protocols, APIs, and client-side state management.
  • Build backend services for collaborative editing, conflict resolution, and content delivery across distributed cloud infrastructure.
  • Build frontend systems for visual real-time editing, page building, and publishing workflows.
  • Own the integration layer between the editing experience and the platform, including APIs, webhooks, and the developer extension model.
  • Define engineering standards for API design, testing, performance, and observability.
  • Evaluate third-party services, libraries, and infrastructure using build-versus-buy tradeoffs.
  • Partner with product and design on technical strategy, interaction models, and phased delivery plans.
  • Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, architecture feedback, and technical documentation.
  • Engage customers and partners to validate architectural assumptions and integration patterns.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience with ownership across the full product lifecycle.
  • Production experience building both backend systems and frontend interactive user interfaces.
  • Experience with real-time or collaborative systems, event-driven architectures, or live data synchronization.
  • Fluency designing and operating cloud-native services in GCP, AWS, Cloudflare, or Azure, including containerization and modern deployment pipelines.
  • Strong API design expertise across REST, GraphQL, and event-driven interfaces.
  • Deep frontend architecture knowledge covering component modeling, state management, rendering performance, and browser technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred experience includes visual or low-code editing interfaces, CMS architectures, developer-facing platforms or extension systems, SDKs, plugin APIs, CLI tooling, and open-source contributions.
