Responsibilities

  • Build and design trading and messaging channels interfacing with venues and exchanges using industry-standard protocols.
  • Operate mission-critical systems and deliver day-to-day enhancements across front-office and operations applications.
  • Provide technical oversight for major fixed-income e-commerce projects and design core components in Java.
  • Implement system testing procedures and develop unit tests for integration into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with other teams in a platform operating model and analyze and support vendor software.
  • Manage stakeholders, prioritize projects, and oversee delivery and maintenance of applications within the equities domain.
  • Provide second-level support and develop market-data feeds for downstream systems.
  • Use AI tools including GitLab, Windsurf, and Copilot.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Java, SQL, Git, and Python.
  • Very good understanding of FIX and FpML trading protocols, data standards, data modeling, XML, and JSON.
  • Strong proficiency with MQ, Kafka, Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Integration.
  • Familiarity with testing patterns, DevOps, cloud, containerization, and Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong knowledge of fixed-income products and associated electronic workflows, including Treasuries, corporate bonds, agencies, commercial paper, and mortgages.
  • Experience with securities or financial-services systems, including order management systems, smart order routers, and market-data aggregators.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing new systems and features independently and developing market-data feeds and feeds to downstream systems.
  • Understanding of fixed-income trade life-cycle events and the regulatory landscape from a developer perspective.
