Base Salary

$112k - $179k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, operate, upgrade, patch, scale, and perform day-two operations for bare-metal OpenShift or equivalent enterprise Kubernetes clusters.
  • Design and implement Terraform- and Ansible-based infrastructure-as-code provisioning for platforms and virtual machines.
  • Support the feasibility assessment of OpenShift versus Spectro Cloud, including licensing, operability, and sustainability analysis.
  • Deploy and support core platform services including authoritative DNS.
  • Implement STIGs and cybersecurity compliance requirements on platform infrastructure.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity and manage logging and alerting.
  • Support OCONUS platform bootstrap activities, including physical hardware installation and configuration.
  • Document platform architecture, configuration decisions, licensing tradeoffs, and operational procedures.
  • Transition provisioning from manual bare-metal installations to a fully infrastructure-as-code-managed model.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA or 6 years with an MS/MA.
  • At least 5 years of platform or systems engineering experience with hands-on Kubernetes-based container platform experience.
  • US citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • DoD 8570/8140-compliant certification.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and administering OpenShift or another enterprise Kubernetes distribution on bare metal.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible for provisioning and configuration management.
  • Working knowledge of Spectro Cloud, VMware, or an equivalent virtualization or cloud orchestration platform.
  • Understanding of container platform networking, storage, cluster security, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong Linux administration skills, specifically RHEL.
  • Ability to document platform architecture, licensing tradeoffs, and operational considerations.
  • Regular or recurring physical access to a DISA SIPR-accredited facility.
  • Preferred qualifications include Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, CKA or CKAD, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate, GitOps experience with ArgoCD or Flux, and disconnected or OCONUS bootstrapping experience.

  • Occasional telework is available, but candidates must live within 50 miles of Oklahoma City, Montgomery, Ogden, San Antonio, Mechanicsburg, Chambersburg, Arlington, Ft. Meade, or Columbus.
  • Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
