Base Salary

$95k - $160k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Operate and expand public cloud platforms using AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, EFS, CloudWatch, and EKS.
  • Guide application teams through public cloud migration and meet non-functional requirements for cloud onboarding.
  • Provide primary operational support, resolve production incidents, and improve system reliability, availability, performance, and security.
  • Debug and optimize systems, automate routine infrastructure tasks, and monitor system metrics and program health.
  • Evaluate production readiness through game days, resiliency tests, and chaos engineering exercises.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify production risks, remove blockers, manage escalations, and improve user experiences.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
  • Deep understanding of technology drivers, architecture design, performance, monitoring, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience building or supporting web environments on AWS, including EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3.
  • Experience with cloud DevOps tools such as Ansible, Artifactory, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Maven.
  • Experience across software design, development, and/or support within the SDLC.
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Datadog.
  • Experience writing infrastructure-as-code with CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Experience with one or more public cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience automating infrastructure tasks using Python or other programming languages.
  • Knowledge of using AI/LLM tools to support self-service diagnosis of infrastructure errors and failures.
  • Preferred: proactive identification of problems, improvement opportunities, and performance bottlenecks, with an SRE-oriented approach to operational engineering.
