Base Salary

$156k - $195k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, document, and maintain Pedal design-system foundations and web components with cross-platform consistency.
  • Develop automations for release workflows, token pipelines, asset updates, documentation, testing, and adoption measurement.
  • Own the Pedal web repository, including package publishing, dependency updates, CI pipelines, GitHub Actions, and release processes.
  • Lead development of AI-assisted systems and workflows for product development and help establish shared tooling, techniques, and governance.
  • Build relationships with product teams, encourage system contributions, and coach and educate contributing designers, engineers, and system users.
  • Advise, coach, and mentor engineers and participate in hiring.
  • Migrate new components and breaking changes into consuming applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of professional front-end software engineering experience, including 2+ years focused on design systems within a dedicated Design Systems team.
  • Fluency in HTML, CSS, CSS-in-JS, TypeScript, React, Git, and GitHub.
  • Proficiency with Storybook and Chromatic; familiarity with Figma, SwiftUI, and Jetpack Compose.
  • At least 1 year of regular use of LLMs and related tools in an engineering workflow, plus experience contributing to organizational AI infrastructure, tooling selection, and governance.
  • Experience developing accessible, responsive, flexible, and composable components with internationalization and cross-platform interfaces.
  • Experience with automated test coverage, declarative component frameworks, cross-functional product development, contribution models, and hands-on component migrations.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and delivery skills.
  • Bonus qualifications include LLM context engineering and experience in service industries, agencies, or customer-focused environments.
