Base Salary
$180k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build real assistants and make calls across Vapi’s LLM, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and telephony integrations.
- Ship customer-facing product features and own a product area within the agent self-improvement loop or trust and guardrails platform.
- Drive features from specification to launch with product management and design, including evaluation and rollout loops.
- Run the agent improvement loop end to end through authoring, evaluation, deployment, observation, and iteration.
- Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor to increase development throughput.
- Contribute to product decisions and own outcomes for multiple shipped features.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building products, including at least 2 years at an early-stage company.
- Strong full-stack engineering experience with TypeScript, React, and a Node-based backend.
- Demonstrated history of shipping polished product surfaces that customers value.
- Strong product judgment, customer empathy, self-direction, and bias toward action.
- Daily experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
- Preferred experience in voice AI, conversational AI, LLM applications, telephony, developer-facing APIs, SDKs, or dashboards.
- Startup experience, widely used side projects, open-source contributions, or public writing on engineering, design, or product practice are nice-to-haves.
