Responsibilities
- Partner with management and stakeholders to define system enhancements, deliver work items, and implement process improvements.
- Design, develop, test, debug, implement, and support mission-critical distributed applications for FX pricing and electronic trading.
- Build and enhance pricing and distribution technology from successful pilot through full-scale rollout.
- Identify, estimate, and implement product enhancements while contributing to long-term technical direction.
- Provide development support for incidents and requests raised through support channels.
- Coordinate project progress, communicate achievements, and collaborate with front-office colleagues and senior technologists across locations.
- Serve as a technical advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts and allocate work as necessary.
- Assess risks, maintain compliance with applicable laws and policies, and escalate control issues transparently.
Requirements
- At least 10+ years of commercial Java development experience and 12+ years of relevant applications development or systems analysis experience.
- Bachelor’s or undergraduate degree in a technical subject, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Advanced experience in applications programming, system analysis, software design, and enterprise application delivery.
- Strong server-side Java development skills, including Java 17 or later, and experience supporting mission-critical applications.
- Experience designing and developing distributed systems using middleware and database technologies.
- Familiarity with Spring Boot, cloud-native technologies, Solace messaging middleware, low-latency programming, NoSQL databases, and Python or Groovy scripting.
- Expertise with Unix/Linux commands and scripting, Oracle databases, source control and collaboration tools, and structured development environments.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and cloud deployment.
- Knowledge of FX pricing lifecycles and exposure to banking regulatory environments are advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, analysis, problem-solving, communication, planning, organization, attention to detail, and prioritization skills.
