Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build distributed systems that apply discount logic at AWS scale across billions of usage events and multiple discount mechanisms.
- Develop configuration-driven billing systems that allow sales, service, and finance teams to create discount constructs without engineering changes.
- Ensure discounts are accurate, auditable, and traceable from contract terms through invoice line items.
- Partner with AWS sales, finance, and service teams including EC2, Marketplace, Bedrock, and APN to implement enterprise billing constructs.
- Automate bill generation, improve operational sustainability, reduce incidents, and accelerate deployment cycles.
- Mentor engineers and improve code quality, operational excellence, and engineering rigor.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- Preferred qualifications include 3 or more years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.

- Base salary range of $143,700.00 to $194,400.00 USD annually, with potential sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
