Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of RDS for SQL Server features from requirements gathering and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Write efficient, maintainable, production-ready code for highly reliable and scalable systems.
- Design solutions for performance, timing, state-machine logic, distributed systems, replication, failover, and disaster recovery.
- Debug production issues, operate owned systems, and make technical trade-offs between delivery speed and long-term sustainability.
- Drive design reviews, provide technical feedback, and influence architecture and engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to interviewing and raising the team's engineering capability.
- Collaborate with customers and partner teams across multiple geographies to deliver improvements.
Requirements
- Professional, non-internship software development experience.
- Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, software architecture, code reviews, source control, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
