Responsibilities
- Develop infrastructure automation interacting with the GCP cloud.
- Improve performance and scalability for MongoDB, CockroachDB, Kafka, and related infrastructure components.
- Design, architect, and provision new infrastructure supporting product functionality.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across Squarespace to build scalable services.
- Participate in technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
- Take technical ownership, lead complex projects, and influence architectural direction across teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience developing backend systems with Go or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience with Go, document databases, and relational databases.
- Familiarity with event-driven systems and messaging tools such as Kafka.
- Understanding of data structures, databases, and software design principles.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to take technical ownership, lead large complex projects, and influence architecture across teams.
