Responsibilities
- Understand and improve the MongoDB query engine’s existing functionality.
- Design, implement, test, and support query performance, robustness, query language, diagnostics, and integration features.
- Coordinate changes with engineers across a large, feature-rich codebase.
- Collaborate with client drivers, cloud services, enterprise tools, support, consulting, education, and marketing teams.
- Contribute to major and minor releases, conduct code reviews, and participate in new-feature design reviews.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data-intensive environments.
- Hands-on experience building industrial-strength software and working with large codebases.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design or architecture.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Database systems development experience is preferred.
- Interest in database query-engine theory and practice; hands-on experience or an M.Sc./Ph.D. in the domain is preferred.
