Responsibilities
- Interpret customer objectives, statements of work, constraints, and stakeholder perspectives to define requirements, use cases, and solution success factors.
- Assess current and target customer systems and environments and develop solution architectures addressing functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design network, storage, virtualization, client/server, operating system, high-availability, and secure gateway solutions.
- Break down epics into stories and facilitate delivery approaches with project, engineering, operational, and service teams.
- Develop high-level designs for engineering implementation and provide technical oversight, guidance, and problem solving throughout delivery and operation.
- Support transformation, operational, migration, transition, maintenance, and disposal plans while identifying and mitigating risks.
- Coordinate technical documentation reviews, asset and equipment audits, security working groups, and continual service improvement activities.
- Maintain awareness of relevant technologies, qualifications, standards, policies, methodologies, frameworks, and customer requirements.
Requirements
- Sole UK nationality and current DV clearance are required; candidates must be eligible for full security clearance.
- Experience in systems infrastructure engineering and architecture design covering network, storage, virtualization, client/server, Windows, Red Hat, and high-availability solutions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Group Policy, security-enforcing technologies, and secure gateway solutions for connectivity with external untrusted networks.
- Detailed requirements analysis and solution design experience.
- Experience across the complete systems development lifecycle from design through operation and maintenance, including transition, migration, and disposal.
- Excellent people and documentation skills, including initial documentation development and production.
- Experience with secure environments, higher-classified systems, MOD working practices, and associated standards and policies is desirable.
- Experience with cloud technologies, Secure DevOps, Agile/SAFe environments, architecture frameworks, and architecture modelling is desirable.
