Responsibilities
- Develop embedded real-time software for mission-critical communications and defense systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on requirements, system design, and software and hardware interfaces.
- Support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing.
- Create test plans, procedures, technical documentation, and participate in peer reviews.
- Identify, track, troubleshoot, and repair software defects.
- Work with software languages across Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems.
- Provide occasional customer support travel, approximately 5%.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and two years of related experience, or eight years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge and experience in embedded real-time software development using VxWorks or Linux.
- Depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
- Advanced C++ proficiency and experience with high-performance and multithreaded programming are preferred.
- Hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded targets using an RTOS is preferred.
- Working knowledge of signal processing, control systems theory, or networking fundamentals is preferred.
- Familiarity with IP, UDP, TCP, IPSec, DDS, or SNMP is preferred.
- Previous professional experience with the Department of Defense or intelligence community is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- Strong communication, presentation, writing, teamwork, curiosity, and ability to learn outside the core discipline are preferred.
