Base Salary
$85k - $168k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build features that protect customers from emerging and sophisticated cyber threats.
- Develop and contribute to the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint protection, detection, and response platform.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers across Microsoft and influence architecture and strategy across multiple security domains.
- Work on reputation systems, heuristics, automated incident response, and AI-powered threat response.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering groups to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline with proven coding experience, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience coding in C, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Python; preferred qualifications also mention C#.
- Preferred: master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or a bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining secure software systems, including authentication, data protection, access control, and secure coding practices.
- Preferred: 1+ year of experience analyzing and optimizing the performance of native C/C++ code.
- Preferred: 1+ year of experience using AI models and agentic flows.
- Ability to pass Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
