Responsibilities

  • Implement compiler and managed-runtime changes to improve workload performance and support Arm architectural features and CPU designs.
  • Identify workload and benchmark bottlenecks using profiling and performance-analysis tools.
  • Collaborate with Arm colleagues, hardware designers, and CPU-focused teams to improve architecture and CPU support.
  • Develop runtime and compiler features, including garbage collectors, interpreters, optimization passes, and intrinsics.
  • Contribute to open-source software projects and engage with open-source communities.
  • Help develop automated functionality and performance-testing frameworks.

Requirements

  • Experience working on managed runtimes, compilers, or similar technologies.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++.
  • Familiarity with assembly-level performance-analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and microarchitecture, including CPU pipelines and cache hierarchies.
  • Proficiency in software development activities including coding, testing, debugging, and code review.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Linux performance-analysis tools and system-level performance tuning.
  • Preferred: proficiency in Java, C#, Rust, Go, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Preferred: familiarity with build systems, CI, and open-source project development and contribution processes.
