Base Salary
$192k - $256k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build high-performance, secure, and documented user interfaces and APIs for AI-driven scientific applications.
- Develop scalable database schemas and manage SQL, NoSQL, vector, and other data systems.
- Build and maintain front-end and backend services with strong performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Diagnose bottlenecks and optimize systems for high availability and low-latency performance at scale.
- Use AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices to deploy production-grade systems.
- Integrate data pipelines, APIs, and cloud infrastructure into scientific workflows in collaboration with ML researchers, engineers, and scientists.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience building and deploying large-scale production systems, with strong backend expertise.
- Full-stack web development experience with React, TypeScript, Tailwind, FastAPI, SQL/NoSQL, Python, and Pydantic.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants is required.
- Proven cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with scientists, data engineers, and product teams.
- Ability to own complex backend challenges and balance scalability, performance, and maintainability trade-offs.
- Preferred experience includes laboratory software, life sciences or materials science, laboratory devices, robotics, or hardware drivers.
- Preferred experience with Airflow, Prefect, Temporal, Dagster, AWS, Kubernetes, containerization, Terraform, CloudFormation, and GitHub Actions.
