Responsibilities
- Develop clean, efficient, production-ready backend software across JobGet’s products.
- Shape technical strategy and align engineering roadmaps with broader business goals.
- Lead architectural evaluations, design reviews, platform consolidation efforts, and scalability initiatives.
- Make significant technical decisions and drive projects end-to-end with limited oversight.
- Identify and resolve architectural bugs, performance issues, bottlenecks, and high-severity incidents.
- Define testing standards, improve automated test coverage, and partner with QA on validation strategies.
- Evaluate and integrate AI-powered tools to improve developer productivity and coding practices.
- Lead incident response and postmortem processes and establish practices to prevent recurrence.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design feedback, technical discussions, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate across product, engineering, development management, and business teams to build alignment and drive decisions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience leading and executing technically complex, high-impact initiatives from inception through delivery.
- Recent experience working on a small, agile startup team across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Primary experience with Go and comfort working across .NET and TypeScript codebases.
- Experience implementing event-driven architecture within microservices ecosystems using tools such as Apache Kafka.
- Experience creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong experience with AWS platforms, including their capabilities and limitations.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Deep software engineering fundamentals and experience with multi-product architectures.
- Experience working in an environment shaped by acquisitions or rapid growth.
- Ability to influence without authority, build consensus, and drive decisions across product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ownership, sound technical judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and a builder’s mindset.
