Base Salary
$140k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build robust, performant, user-facing web applications in Python, Django, and Angular
- Develop and ship functionality for user interaction and scientific data visualization using modern APIs and frameworks
- Collaborate as part of an agile product team to deliver a strong user experience
- Deliver responsive, accessible, mobile-friendly code with automated testing, building, and deployment
- Support continued development of the Sequence Read Archive, a petabyte-scale archive serving millions of daily users
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a scientific field such as engineering or physics, or equivalent experience
- At least five years of full-stack web application development experience using Python, Django, and Angular
- Understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with relational database modeling and data migration
- Knowledge of accessibility and security compliance
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN
- Experience with web services and RESTful APIs is a bonus
- Experience with semantic markup and modern web layout techniques is a bonus
- Experience with agile development processes is a bonus
- Experience with C++, SQL Server, and relational databases is a bonus
- Expertise with bioinformatics software applications handling DNA sequence data is a bonus
