Responsibilities
- Implement sensor-fusion algorithms combining GNSS, IMU, LIDAR, radar, and camera data for robust navigation.
- Test, analyze, and iterate on navigation algorithms and flight-control designs in the field.
- Develop simulation and testing environments for localization performance across varied conditions and scenarios.
- Design fault-tolerant algorithms optimized for onboard compute and GNSS-contested operation.
- Determine navigation, localization, and positioning architectures based on mission requirements and system constraints.
- Architect and improve sensor-suite calibration procedures.
- Integrate navigation solutions with autonomy, flight-controls, and hardware teams and support flight testing.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Requirements
- Experience developing, maintaining, or testing navigation or localization algorithms for autonomous vehicles, robotics, drones, maritime vehicles, or similar systems.
- Experience with Kalman filtering and other estimation techniques.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to break down large problems into actionable parts.
- Eligibility to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Availability to travel up to 25%.
- Preferred: MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with Python, Rust, Nix, sensor calibration, sensor fusion, state estimation, SLAM, regression testing, sensor processing, sensor characterization, Linux, CUDA, and the NVIDIA ecosystem.
