Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and debug embedded software applications and system components using C and C++.
- Develop Linux device drivers and low-level system software.
- Perform hardware bring-up, BSP development, and hardware-software integration.
- Design and implement solutions on RTOS platforms.
- Troubleshoot kernel, driver, networking, and system-performance issues.
- Provide technical direction, mentoring, code reviews, and project guidance to engineering teams.
- Contribute to system architecture, technology decisions, quality initiatives, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, Quality Engineering, and Customer Support.
- Support customer escalations and deliver timely solutions for critical issues.
- Help deliver projects on schedule while maintaining software quality, performance, and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong programming expertise in C and C++.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Linux device driver development, Linux kernel architecture, system programming, and debugging.
- Hands-on experience with at least one RTOS such as VxWorks, QNX, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or Integrity.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Experience with board bring-up, BSP development, hardware-software integration, and low-level system programming.
- Experience using GDB, JTAG, kernel tracing, and performance analysis tools.
- Familiarity with ARM, x86, or other embedded processor architectures.
- Understanding of networking protocols, virtualization, and embedded system design principles.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong collaboration, communication, stakeholder-management, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a globally distributed team.
